Monday 14 April 2014 was held a fire drill with the cooperation of BOMBA. Initially, few people came out because they said the alarm did not ring immediately. This was followed by a stream of staff walking to the checkpoint underneath the shelter of trees beside the government quarters nearby. Specific corners were allotted for specific divisions to group. A smoke bomb was release to give the impression a fire broke out on the third level of Tanjung Block. Soon, a few fire engines came to the “rescue”. A ‘silent’ roll count was made and everyone was accounted for. Water was actually sprayed on top of Tanjung block and later a few people who were “hurt” were given medical treatment. Everything went smoothly but most wonder how efficient things will be if a fire broke out during peak morning hours when many people visit DBKL’s cafeteria.
